January 29, 2008 – Vol 2, Issue 3

The days are getting longer, but they aren’t long enough for us! We’ve been reading and searching for some great sites to pass along.

This issue is our own mashup of sorts. A little of this; a little of that. But we’re confident there’s a little something in here for you!

Let’s jump right in, shall we?

Calling all nonprofits

Small or large, nonprofits are aways fundraising. There seems to be a a never ending need for money. The question remains: Are there alternative ways to support your programs?

Enter Greenraising. It’s not just another fundraising shopping site; it has a nice “green” twist.

Lots of products that are in huge demand are available, and at fair market prices. Reusable bags, SIGG bottles, reusable sandwich wrappers.

Registered nonprofits get 25% of sales where they are specified. So register your group, tie in your client to a nonprofit.

It’s all good. And for a good cause…

Intermezzo

25.jpgThis blog, Good URL, Bad URL can provide you (as it did us) with good clean fun.

Users submit URLs which are then open for discussion. Sure are a lot of crazy ones out there.

It’s not a mean site; but we found it entertaining and enlightening.

Meaning what?

You may know that you can look up the definition of a word in Google (big surprise) by typing define: before the word. Like this.

But I think we found a better way. Definr. It’s fast, concise. Dare I say, we love it.

And you can even add it as a Firefox extension. Oh, the joy.

Stump the Researcher

A reader asks: Do you know or can you point me in the direction to get information regarding money spent on employee training? Basically I just want numbers like “the top companies spend $x per employee per year on training” or “for a midsized company you can expect to spend x.”

You get the picture. Can you help?

Yes, we can.
