Seriously? It’s October? How did this happen. There are two great things about October. 1) Today is my anniversary. Sixteen years of wedded bliss. And, 2) My birthday is in October. As if you couldn’t have guessed I was a Libra. And Librans strive for balance and harmony and are happiest when their environment is ordered and serene. So in that vein, let’s talk some new tools that are worth knowing about for finding balance and harmony in managing your social life online: Gist – Managing Your RelationshipsA beautiful new site, Gist is a little baffling at first. According to Robert Pease, it is “kind of a whole new approach to personal relationship management that combines elements of” a contact manager and business intelligence tool that focuses on “blending how your contacts, connections, and all the associated content you share and they generate comes together for your use.” Confused yet? I’ve just started using it and though I do get nervous about connecting my accounts and passwords, it’s pretty nice to aggregate so many daily tasks in one place. Worth a look. GizaPage – Managing Your ContentGizaPage is a social network organizer. Did you know you need organizing? I already built a simple page with all my networks and contact information using Retaggr. Well, this is awesome. Clean, nice and super easy. The service “helps consumers and brands manage their online presence by consolidating their many social networking profiles side by side under a personalized URL.” Read It Later – Managing Your Reading MaterialYou know how it is. You find a great article and you want to read it but right now you have work to do. Sure, you could bookmark it or send yourself a link. But wouldn’t it be great if you could store it for reading later. Even offline. Or on your phone? With Read It Later, you can read at home, work, on the plane, or during your commute; even without an internet connection. I wasn’t sure I needed this. But now that I’m using it, I don’t know how I existed without it. Oh, and you can share the items easily right from the page. Sweet. Thank YouThanks for reading. See you online! ~Wendy |
