December 4, 2008 Vol. 2, Issue 23

December is here. Crazy, huh?

Some of you are planning, some working hard to tie-up year end, and some are seeing (or worrying about) a slow down.

What a perfect time to get some tools in place for the fat times ahead. (Hey, a girl can dream.)

Leave no tracks.

Sure, you’re checking out your competition or your clients’ competition online. Everyone does. (And everyone should.) But what happens when they see you’ve been there? Is that what you want?

If you’re a Firefox user (penetration is up to 20%!), try the RefControl add-on. You can set it so no one can see who you are. Nice. For a meager $29.95 you can buy a year of GhostSurf which makes you invisible.

Not to be paranoid, but…

See Jessica Gottleib’s post for a great reason why & thanks to her for the links!

Where did the day go?

It happens to the best of us. So give Toggl a try. This time management tool is extremely easy to use and will help you see how you really spend your day. And the price is surely right.

Feed your inner knowledge-seeker.

We’ve talked about RSS feeds before. Setting them up just right takes a little time, but it will definitely pay off in time-savings going forward. Some great feeds are available from Moreover for virtually every industry. Add them to your list. Organize your feeds. Use Google or Netvibes or whatever you like.

Just do it.

So you’re afraid you won’t check your feed reader?

We’ve got you covered. Daily Me lets you choose their news and enter feeds you choose and they’ll email you the updates on your schedule.

Seriously. You can’t beat that.

That’s it for today. We have some data diving to do. See you in 2 weeks.
