Busy, busy bees, we are. So without any further ado, here are some research-y thoughts and sites.

Widgets

We don’t usually just pass along articles. But this is a really great and in depth look at widgets by Businessweek. If you don’t know, widgets are bits of embeddable code that link back or do something. That’s as ‘regular’ as we can say it. You’ve seen them around. Ones like this one for a nonprofit and this one to count down. We believe widgets can be used in some really great and creative ways and that most companies don’t even give them a second thought. So if you have a few minutes, check it out. It’s fascinating. (But we like this sort of thing. We’re a little geeky, we admit.)

Intermezzo

April showers bring May flowers and all that stuff. Now, what are you supposed to do with those snarly brambles growing in the backyard? Go to Gardenweb. It’s a virtual library of everything garden related. From gardening by region, or by subject, plant databases, or horticulture sites. They’ve even have a list of botanical gardens in case you want to give up on your own but still want to spend the day amongst the blossoms.

Got Tools?

Brain tired of remembering all your favorite resource and search sites? itools has some of the best of the best all in one place. You can access multiple dictionaries, thesauruses, quotations, biographies, newspapers and magazines all from one consolidated site. Now you can fill your brain with more important things, like where you left your keys. Or where to hike this weekend.

Breathe Deeply and “Inhale the Web”

Addictomatic searches the best live sites on the web for the latest news, blog posts, videos and images. Want to be in the know on the hottest topics? This is one cool site to feed your addiction for what’s up and what’s now. And the best part is you can customize it to suit whatever info-issues you have.

Stump the Researcher

A loyal reader asks: I am on the road constantly. While I am glad to have the opportunity to go to such amazing international locations, I have to admit that I get a little lonely. Short of sitting with strangers at dinner (which I have been known to do), do you have any suggestions for me to meet people?

Meet people? No, we’re not in that business. But we do have an idea for you.

Cya

We’re writing more economically since we’ve been hanging out on Twitter. You know – 140 characters max. So, cya soon!
