Answers To Those Burning Questions…Isn’t it frustrating when you have simple question and find yourself struggling to find that simple answer? Don’t fret. Below are a couple of sites that have quick answers to those plaguing questions. (Or you could call us. Hint, hint.) Metafilter is a community blog that allows anyone to contribute a link or comment. Typically a blog is a unique site where one person writes regularly and the followers or “fans” leave comments. In a twist, this website fosters discussion among its members so that you can post a question and see if someone out there has the answer. Take a look to see what people want to know… • Please assist me with my LSAT prep anxiety… Yahoo Answers is another great site (and a huge time-suck if you like this sort of thing!) It’s really well organized which makes finding archived question & answers easy to find. Here are some questions from the Computers and Internet tab… • Does downloading videos from Youtube cause your computer to crash? ToAnswer is a unique because it interfaces with Twitter (and you know what big fans we are of Twitter) so you can tap into their very savvy user base. Just remember, you have to keep your questions to 140 characters or less. So as long as you keep it fairly brief, you’ll be amazed what you can discover… • How do you measure your life (well-being)? Any specific indicators or dimensions to consider? We love Ilovephotos.comWhat would you do if as soon as you uploaded photos from your camera they were organized, labeled, and e:mailed to friends and family or your favorite on-line photo sharing site? You might be as in love with ilovephotos.com as we are. This cool new beta site uses facial detection and an intelligent platform to make managing your photos easy as pie. What will they think of next? Dipity… timelines at their best — only betterWe wrote about this site in June. And while we hate to repeat ourselves, our favorite timeline site has gotten even better. How is that possible? Dipity has added a ton of social networking integration with services such as Digg, Twitter, Daylife, Flickr and many others. Now you, too, can learn all about the history of the vacuum cleaner, manned space exploration and more! Stump the ResearcherA loyal reader asks: I’m having a Scottish party. Don’t laugh. I like theme parties. What foods should I serve? Dear lad or lass, we’re not laughing. Not much, anyway. Read here for our answer. Whew. Now, that’s a newsletter. See you in two weeks! |
