School is back in full swing and, I don’t know about you, but I’m a little dizzy from hearing about quadratic regressions. How do I bring myself around? Get back to a happy place. To the things I love the most.

Statistics.

Serious Stats

You are going to love this. Don’t you hate when people start something with that? I mean, talk about a set up for disappointment. But I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all. You know how you’re always looking for internet stats? Here is the motherlode. Of course, it’s from Google.

This Internet Stats resource brings together the latest industry facts and insights. These have been collected from a number of third party sources covering a range of topics from macroscopic economic and media trends to how consumer behavior and technology are changing over time. (They do have a bit of UK focus, but don’t let that keep you from diving in…) Choose from Technology, Consumer Trends, Media Consumption and Landscape and Economics.

For instance, 5% of all time online is spent on Facebook, according to data released by Comscore earlier this year. And 73% of C-suite executives are using the Internet daily, according to new research Google conducted with Forbes of 500 executives at companies with sales of $1 billion or higher. Good chance you can find the tidbits you’ve been looking for. Have fun!

Biz Stats

We are always in search of business statistics. And, we love passing on the goods.

Here’s a great one. Biz Stats. Boring name, cool info.

Find financial ratios by industry. Sales, too. And it’s broken down by type of company and more. Sure there are gaps. (You get what you pay for, right?) But this is a great site for your industry knowledge gathering. You can get a year’s worth of info free or subscribe for trend data.

Beyond Social Media Basics: How to Monitor and Engage Audiences

Wendy will be presenting this exciting webinar with Paul Schneider on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm ET (11:00 am – 12:00 pm PT).

At this point, just about everyone has covered the basics of social media and the fuss about Twitter, Facebook, and more. But the magic question many still ask is “what do we do now?” Join us as two social media thought leaders (I did not write that part!) share where to start and how to keep things going. Whether it’s capturing the online discussion and what is being said about your organization or identifying your most vocal members and creating a community, we’ll provide you with action items and tools you can use to monitor and engage in the discussions.

Join us. It’s free.

I’ll let you go

Lots of folks I talk to say things are looking up. We hope you’re experiencing this too, so we’ll let you get back to it!

See you in two weeks.
